Have just looked at the website for Dadlington, which you mentioned in The Stoker and found it very interesting. I have lived in the village for over 50years and on looking at the 'photo'section was able to put names and dates to some of the events and people. Not sure whether this would be of any interest to you.      AB

I came across your website via the Stoker magazine and have found it very interesting, especially as I have been researching my Family Tree for a few years and I have quite a few ancestors who lived in Dadlington with the surname Merrick.
One ancestor in particular was Thomas Merrick born in Dadlington in 1771 who served in the 31st Foot regiment in the French Revolutionary War. He lost a leg in Holland age 20, this resulted in him becoming a Chelsea pensioner.
Although I have this much information regarding this ancestor I wondered if you would know of or have access to   Dadlington  records which might have more info regarding the Merricks.
Thank you         NJ
